JBS Law Magnet named an Exemplary High Performing National Blue Ribbon School.  On September 7, 2012, US Secretary of Education Arne Duncan announced that JBS Law Magnet earned recognition as one of the top high schools in the United States based upon student performance on state assessments.   The high level of performance has placed our school in the Top Five Percent of ALL SCHOOLS NATIONWIDE!  "Today we have been recognized for what the Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet family has known for many years; our teachers set the bar high for our students, our families and community support our students and teachers and our students work diligently to achieve their academic goals," stated Anthony Palagonia, Principal.  "We truly believe that every Legal Eagle can achieve at high levels due to the commitment of our staff to provide high quality instruction for every student.  Today we take pride as a family knowing that the efforts of staff, faculty, families and students have been recognized at the national level!"

An exemplary school with extraordinary students, staff and community supporters - those words sum up the essence of JBS Law Magnet.  Founded in 1977, the JBS law Magnet offers students the opportunity to experience the law.  Students experience the law thorough court room observations, simulations in the class room, community service projects, networking with criminal justice and legal professionals, and interning with local law firms, governmental agencies, police departments, sheriff's offices and non-profit organizations in the Dallas area.  In short, students at the JBS Law Magnet have the most powerful classroom in the world - the City of Dallas.

At the JBS Law Magnet we take great pride in maintaining atmosphere conducive to learning with a minimum of distractions.  Students are expected to dress in a manner that reflects our mission - to promote the exploration of legal and law enforcement careers.  We ask your assistance in maintaining this professional atmosphere by taking a few moments to talk to your student about proper attire.  A copy of the Townview Dress Code and a Copy of Courtroom Attire have been uploaded - so that you may help us with that endeavor.

A reminder - shorts are not permitted and capri pants should hit the calf.

All students are required to wear their JBS Law Magnet ID each and every day. Interns must wear both their internship ID and their JBS Law Magnet ID.  The first ID is provided to each student free of charge.  One Temporary ID will be furnished for free.  Replacement IDs must be purchased for $5.00.  JBS Law Magnet lanyards are available in the JBS Law Magnet Office for $1.00.  Please help us keep your students safe and secure - remind them to wear their IDs.
