JBS College Room Open - The JBS Law Magnet College Room is located in the JBS Law Office.  The room is equipped with computers and printer that may be used by students working on college applications, ACT/SAT registration, SAT practice and scholarship applications.  The JBS College Room is open every day by 7:00 am and closes at 5:00 pm.  Please use the sign in sheet.

College Room Norms:

1. Priority to students completing college or scholarship paperwork.
2. Students are responsible for the room - no food or drink permitted.
3. Use the sign in sheet.
4. Professional language, attitude and composure required - the JBS College Room is part of the JBS Law Magnet Office Suite.
5. Post Scholarship Opportunities and Deadlines on the Boards

Senior Reminders - January 2013

• All SAT and ACT's should be taken
• All Senior Fees should be paid
• Yearbooks should be ordered
• FAFSA PIN numbers for parent and student should be acquired
• FAFSA Workshop - Feb. 12 should be calendared

ACT and SAT Registration/Test Dates

Seniors should have all SAT and ACT final scores as soon as possible.  Several opportunities for testing still exist but you must act now to register.  SAT and ACT help is available on line and should be used prior to re-taking any test. 

Students who qualify for Free and/or Reduced Price Meals should see Mrs. Jackson regarding Fee Waivers.  Plan ahead and make your requests in a timely manner for registration and fee waivers.

Registration Dates and Test Dates may be accessed at the College Board Web Site (SAT) or the ACT Website.  Technical issues using those sites should be addressed to College Board and ACT respectively - Dallas ISD and JBS Law Magnet cannot resolve technical issues with those sites.

Recommendation Guidelines: 

1.  Contact potential recommenders at least one month prior to due date.

2.  Provide recommender with a copy of your personal statement, college essays, transcript and any additional information that will assist in personalizing the reommendation.

3.  Provide an addressed stamped envelope to the recommender.

4.  Mr. Palagonia has Recommendation Packets available in the JBS Law Magnet Office - Room 203.
